Who wants to help me spend $300?

I want a bigger monitor for my home system. I'm looking at 27 inch models and can't seem to decide which to go with.

I'm looking at this ASUS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236091

And this Acer: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009302

Normally, I would go with the ASUS. However, they are both $299.99, but the Acer comes with a $50 instant coupon code making it $249.99. That's the only reason I am currently leaning toward the Acer.

Which would you get?

ASUS for sure.

Saving $50 is nice for your wallet right now but in the long run it's really not worth it.

I know people who have monitors from Acer and they have nothing but trouble with them.

I myself use a 24* ASUS.

Acer is crap imo. I had nothing but trouble with my first pc I bought from them. Could be just a coincidence though, but I hear a lot of bad stuff about them.

ASUS is the best option here.

Asus for sure. I got a new asus just last month and its brilliant, no problems at all.

I will likely go for the ASUS. It's what I wanted to do anyway. I've never owned anything from Acer, but I've owned lots of ASUS hardware...and it never let me down before.
